| John was born and raised on a small farm in Hadley, Massachusetts. It was here that he and his two brothers, Michael and Frank, studied under Stephen Hamilton of Amherst, a local artist, and began their careers in art. John went on to study art at the University of Miami, the Maryland Institute and the London City Guild Art School in London, England. His lifetime of art has produced numerous awards including the Lazarebarth Memorial Award for 1976 awarded by The North Shore Art Association, the judges of the 1976 Bicentennial Exhibit in Greenfield, MA honored him with their first prize, and, for a number of years, he has received Best Watercolor and Best in Show in the annual art show in Cambridge, Maryland. John is a member of the Academic Arts Association, The Southern Vermont Art Center, and the North Shore Arts Association. For over twenty years, John has painted room-size murals in the Massachusetts building of the Eastern States Exhibition in Springfield, MA. He resides in Easthampton, MA where he formerly ran his own art school. His paintings are in private collections in the United States, Canada, Austria, England, Japan, Australia, Jamaica, Caracas, and Venezuela. His paintings also hang in many corporate collections. | |||
