Bio
Ms. Holesovsky is a self-taught artist who has been painting and drawing since childhood. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Massachusetts including an exhibition in the offices of the Senate Ways and Means Committee in Boston, The Academic Artists Association National Juried Exhibits of 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2003, the New England Watercolor Society in 1998 and 2003, the Springfield Art League Northeast Juried Exhibit in 2001, 2002 and 2003, and most recently the Springfield Art League Corridor Exhibit at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts 2003.

Her creative focus in watercolor has been dry-brush realism. The control of pigment with this technique allows for several layers of over painting giving more intensity of color and greater contrast of lights and darks. This technique brings the subjects alive. The textural aspects of her work also make each piece that more real. Recently she received a substantial grant from the Amherst Cultural Council. Seven portraits of people were painted for the “Cultural Diversity Portrait Exhibit.” These images, along with a biography of each, were shown at Burnett Gallery in Amherst, MA. The proceeds from the sale of the portrait of Leonard Fourhawks were donated to the Pine Ridge Reservation to help support an art program for the children of that reservation. Ms. Holesovsky also donated a painting to raise funds to help landmine victims in Nicaragua.

Ms. Holesovsky’s art is included in numerous private and public collections including the Belchertown Stone House Museum. She has instructed both children and adults in watercolor techniques and assists college applicants in preparing portfolios. She has also served on the Belchertown Cultural Council as member and Co-chair, bringing diverse artistic programs to her hometown of Belchertown, MA.
